I created Powers Purchasing as a business that blends my love of design with my ability to find simple solutions to complicated problems. Inspired by my mother, a designer who has always created enchanting environments inspired by nature, I work with interior designers to streamline their design process.
Committed to supporting women reaching for the stars, I believe in creating opportunities for work-life balance and aim to bring my unique perspective to my work in the design industry.
Do you do returns, damage claims, and repairs?
Do you work with receiving warehouses?
How do you communicate with designers?
What kind of reports do you run?
Do you do returns, damage claims, and repairs?
Yes, we will work with vendors and receiving warehouses to facilitate returns, file damage claims, and repair damaged furniture. Any open claims are tracked in Studio and will appear on our weekly reports until we finalize a the resolution.
01.
Do you work with receiving warehouses?
Yes! Actually, we only work with interior designers that use receiving warehouses for their deliveries. We track and record warehouse receipts and dates in Studio. Then, we run custom reports for the receiver that show the items to expect, what was received, and what is still in transit (with tracking if available).
We also pull installation reports for the receiver that show everything we want to be delivered (with receipt numbers).
02.
How do you communicate with designers?
We mainly communicate in 4 ways: reports, emails, spreadsheets, and weekly calls.
Reports: We run weekly reports that show the design team the status of all open orders and open proposals. We also run our “Hot List” reports that flag any items we need to check in on.
Emails: All proposal and order approvals are tracked by email. Ex: Proposal 100034 is approved. Please place all orders.
Spreadsheets: A spreadsheet is the best tool to communicate a new Shopping List at the beginning of a project. Most designers use a shared sheet to list all of the specifics and links to items they want included in the initial proposal.
Weekly Meetings: We schedule a regular weekly meeting to review priorities and any issues or questions that have come up during the week.

What kind of reports do you run?
The possibilities are endless! But, here are a few that we run on the regular.
Open Order and Open Proposal Reports: Tracking what you are currently working on
Client Reports: Client Facing reports that ONLY show what they need to see
Receiving Warehouse Reports: Installation Lists with receipt numbers and dates, new client project list
Hot Lists: These reports catch everything we need to check in on asap! Missing order acknowledgments, missing estimated ship dates, upcoming and late shipments
As the founder of Powers Purchasing, my goal is to ensure every part of the purchasing process is as simple and transparent as possible.
Prior to Powers Purchasing, I spent my career bringing organization and efficiency to businesses spanning multiple industries, including commercial real estate, investor relationships, digital marketing, and distribution.
Although my design medium is more often a spreadsheet than a home, I believe stories can be found everywhere. We are here to help you turn those visions into reality.
I am a purchasing specialist and project manager, driven to simplify and streamline the design process with meticulous attention to detail. With nearly 20 years of experience in refining processes and efficiency, including production management and materials purchasing for The Sundance Catalog orders, I bring creativity and exceptional customer service to every project. Outside of work, I'm a mother of two remarkable girls, an adventure-seeker, and a motorcycle enthusiast who loves exploring new territories and camping to stay focused and energized in all aspects of life.
With over a decade of experience helping entrepreneurs streamline and expand their businesses, I began working specifically in the interior design industry upon joining Powers Purchasing in 2020. Honed issue resolution skills during supply chain crisis era. Skilled at nurturing relationships that foster efficiency and clear communication. Incredibly detailed oriented and effective at meeting deadlines. It brings me immense joy to be apart of bringing a creative vision to life! When I’m not working on my computer, I’m hosting glampers in my geodesic dome, savoring sweet moments shared with my son and immersing in nature.
As an interior designer, I love bringing the creative and artistic to the efficient and functional. Bringing projects together simply and efficiently with skilled communication and practical organization abilities.
